The Client
A large retail pharmacy chain
The Challenge
One of the largest retail pharmacy chains planned to implement SAP S/4HANA at its U.S. locations. However, a lack of documentation and ineffective inventory recognition processes were standing in the way.
The Solution
Our team took a phased approach to prepare the client for the upgrade.
Phase One: We brought in a team of auditors to document the existing order to cash (O2C) and procure to pay (P2P) processes.
Phase Two: Our team of consultants needed to validate accounting data on the client’s parallel systems. While validating the data, the team identified that the processes by which the stores were recognizing inventory were ineffective.
Phase Three: The inventory recognition issue needed to be fixed before the system implementation could move forward. To remedy this, our team of consultants optimized inventory recognition processes at the store level so point of sale (POS) journal entries matched inventory levels.
With incompatible processes and inventory systems fixed, the company was now ready to upgrade. Our team of consultants stayed with the client through the full implementation, business continuance, and go-live from the client’s legacy system to SAP S/4HANA.
The Benefit
The result was fully automated P2P and O2C processes in a successful SAP S4/HANA ERP system implementation. Additional benefits to the client included:
